Is there a diference between a 68 gmc 2wd 1/2ton shortbed frame and a 71 chevy 2wd 1/2ton shortbed frame .

I can't guarantee they are exact but I really think they are the same except maybe where the power steering box hooks up may vary a small amount.

67 was different where the steering box bolts up, I beleive the 68 and newer are the same.

some gmcs had leaf springs. Maybe all, I dont know. I do know I had one before with leafs.

The rear suspention may or may not be the same... most GMC trucks had leafs, most chevys had coils, either could be had either way.
There is a possibility that the 68 does not have the provisions for the power steering box.
The frame material on the 71 is lighter stronger, made of "high strength steel"

otherwise, they should be the same.

NO all I have a 72 GMC long bed with coils

in 69, coils were standard on GMC 1500 series trucks.
