I know the word on the 2" drop springs for a 67-72 is that most times you can not tell a difference because the truck tends to drop about that much over time on the stock springs. Would this also be the case with my '84? I am considering dropping the front two inches, and have been looking at the drop spindles. I just do not know if I can swing that or not, so I thought I would at least ask about the springs. How much difference is the ride between the two? Thanks in advance.

Yes all springs will sag with time. If you go any lower than 2" drop springs you will start to change the geometry of the suspension. The spindles will give you a closer to stock ride.

Little stiffer with just drop springs> stock feel with just spindles < just depends on what you will put up with . 2 in coils will be fine if you dont minda little stiffer ride . with 2 in coils you still have enough spring travel to handle most roads , unless its super rough.

By the way where in Va. are you located ?

I just got my 2" springs from summit should be putting on my '87 in a week or so. I'll post a picture once installed.

installed 2" springs today. Dropped truck about 1 1/2" and the ride is much firmer alot less body roll.

Mine rides smoother, but it was a Big 10, it did drop it a good two inches.

Spindles are easier to change than springs (IMO) and have more effect, if they are 3 inch drop.

You will have to change the "tow in" with any drop spring or even with
spindles because I've found that the steering arms are not in the exact same
place as the stock spindles.
