(stupid ?) drive shaft question

it`s me again,

well, - I discovered a problem when I had installed my motor/tranny/driveshaft combination :

the driveshaft looks as if its totally bent - i mean it just looks not right.

I dropped the rear with a belltech flipkit and hanger/shackle kit - I think that`s why the rearaxle isn`t level any more, - the u-joint is a little bit too high - and the first u-joint(at the end of the trans) is TOO low (it looks really stupid if you look underneath the truck...)

Is that normal ? Do i have to cut that U-profile off, which holds the driveshaft bracket...or does it help to reinstall the original hanger/shackle set ? Maybe that was a little too low....???

sorry, but I´m really confused and don`t know what to do right now to fix that prob, - maybe anybody has had the same issues or just a suggestion ??

and , sorry, there`s another problem:

I ordered a new rear window w/ rubber for my truck and now I discovered that the weatherstriping seal is TOO LONG ??! It doesn`t butt against the window exactly... (hope my english is okay...)

yours,
Rob

Re: (stupid ?) drive shaft question

Your explanation doesn't make all that much sense. Is it a one-piece or two-piece drive shaft? Can you take a picture?

Re: (stupid ?) drive shaft question

Have to use shims to correct your pinion angle after altring your suspension. I wish Iwas knowlegeable enough to tell you what to do or show you with pics , but Im not . Im sure some other board member ,like frank monroe would be better to advise you . good luck

Re: (stupid ?) drive shaft question

All I know about driveshaft angles is that they shouldn't be in a straight line. If you get the driveline components lined up too straight the u-joints don't have to actually "work" they'll wear out in a heart beat.

Another explanation might be that the tailshaft of the transmission, the driveline, and the rear end should be in somewhat of a mild "Z" configuration (looking from the side) with the trans up higher than the rear if that makes sense.

It sounds like your setup is opposite? I'm sure someone will have a better explanation or a picture even...

Re: (stupid ?) drive shaft question

As long as you did both the rear shackles and front hangers the angle should be fine. Don't worry about it unless you have a new vibration.

We need a picture to have a good idea of what happened with your window.

Re: (stupid ?) drive shaft question

Thanks everybody - UPDATE:

The weatherstriping stuff was fine - later I knew how to install them "right" - then they fit...

I took a couple of pix of my driveshaft angle problem - sorry, I will post them tomorrow - because I forgot my camera in my shop...
