Re: Help me Rock My Ride and possibly win $500 for your truck...

I was wondering if they had finished her for you. I see in their picture gallery the only thing it shows is your burb stripped to the core. Hopefully it is along way from there. Can't wait that they are making you wait until summer. It would seem that it should only take a couple of weeks to a couple of months to do $10K of work; especially if including new parts.

As far as getting rid of the Cameo I will just say this. I sold my 72 blazer back in December due to bieng layed off. Now I am back to normal financially and am really wanting to get another, sooo if it ever goes on the choping block I will let you know. I feel bad because I haven't worked on it at all since I got it running and that was back in November. Hoping to start working on my cars again and not on house related projects. I guess things have not progressed with acquiring the cameo in your area that the older gentelman owns?

Wow, Harlan, I am sorry to hear about the job loss. This economy really stinks and it hopefully will recover before too long. They have let 160 people go from my employer and I am thankful to at least have 23 years of seniority on my side. Everyone is pretty much just taking a deep breath for right now.

I occasionally see the guy with the Cameo and he just snickers when I offer to buy it or trade my newer Chevy truck for it. I think that he knows he has me and he isn't ready to part with it. I would definitely have to scramble to scrape up the funds if he decides to sell it. If you get to that point, let me know, but I don't want to take advantage of your situation. Hopefully you will get back to work before too long, but I do love your truck!

Yes, the Suburban Project moves slowly forward. Even though I don't get to see it, I have asked the Radio Station to check in on the shop regularly because of this economy. I don't want to find out 4 months after the fact that they went out of business. At this point, I am just glad to hear updates that they are making progress.

Take care,
