You might need this. I am postin a pic of it since I want to make sure its the right part firstly and to help others if they ever need it.
Its the TV cable detent Grommet/Oring/Gasket Thingamajigy lol!
only .53 cents at OReilly.

Thanks to the others on the boards that helped me exlpain it to them at the store.

On the 700R4 the dipstick tube seal and the detent cable grommet are ALMOST identical...but not quite. If I remember right the dipstick tube seal is just a bit smaller than the detent cable grommet.

It looks very similar to the seal thingy that went between the kickdown cable and the transmission on my TH350. It was about a 1/4 inch in diameter. It looks like the one on the dipstick, but much smaller.

I had a similar problem when I tried to get one for my cable at O'Reilly. Mine was missing, and I had never seen one. The guy at O'Reilly had not either. My book said there was supposed to be something there. I felt like an idiot asking for it. It was like the blind leading the blind!

My turbo-400 leaks through a weep hole in the slip yoke. It's very mysterious. I guess when I lower it 4/6, I'll check the length again and plug up that hole. Any one else have a 400 leaking through the yoke?

I was reading the link to swervin's site and I have a question.
I never thought about this much before, but now Im starting to wonder. I have replaced my clutch a few times and removed my trans even more times. I never marked where the driveshaft was. I just took it off and put it back on. Never seemed to have a vibration or out of balance problem. I thought that when a driveshaft was balanced its balanced out of the truck (vehicle), so it wouldnt matter how you put it back in. Is this right? Is there something Im missing. I will be doing a clutch probly within the next few months, so this has me thinking

It's not so much of a problem just removing the driveshaft and putting it back in. It's when you are replacing the U-Joints is when you don't want to lose the alignment of the yoke to the drive shaft.
