New Engine-Need Sensors - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Just put a 350 in my truck it had a 6 in it before. The truck is a 68 so I have the old dash(dummylights), the engine is a 72. It has holes front and rear on block and one on the intake next to water neck. Also have one on each side head. Only thing I see on wiring diagram is oil sensor, and water temp. where would these go on the new engine and which ones do I need. Part number would be great.

Oil sensor - back of block, by the distributor.
Temp sensor - driver's side head.
Sorry don't have any part numbers.

The oil senser goes in the opening behind the distributor. I think it is a PS12, but ask the parts guy for a sender for a light for that model. The temp sender will go in the hole in the intake. The factory usually puts it in the outlet on the heads between the spark plugs but the older senser the thread size is probably too small. It takes a TS-6 sender for a factory gauge. These are Standard motor Co. brand numbers available at Carquest & many other part stores.
