time to for me to learn some things about blazers

So, the wife has decided it's time to sell her 68 C10 and get the blazer she's always wanted. I think we've given up on the 70 GMC, but there is a 72 chevy down the road. It's going to need some work. so, I've got some questions.

Are the hoods, quater panels & doors the same for trucks & blazers?

It looks like someone painted a white top black. Now it's flaking... How difficult is it going to be to remove the black paint, and what is the best method?

Any chance that the tailgate is the same for a fleetside pickup?

There's some tub issues, but I think it is definately salvageable as long as we do something soon...

hoods and fenders can interchange granted you use the right core support a 68 chevy hood and fenders will only work on a 67 68 core support but you can use 68-72 GMC fenders instead of 68 chevy fenders. now if u want to use a 69 - 72 chevy front clip u must use the core support from the same vintage.. obviously the head light buckets are different.. No was for the doors any door will work provided you cut the window fram off of it to just behind the vent window...use the old door as a guide...
I may have forgotten something or misspoke.... but hope that helps... good luck

Tailgates are the same, Bedsides are shorter like Red
said but they are also different since door opening is
built into them. Tub issues can cost a lot of money,
the rocker boxes are more expensive to replace and
can cause your body to collapse at windsheild base
if you were to remove the tub w/out proper support.
It all depends on your skill level, blazer / jimmy to me
are harder than trucks when it involves bodywork

to the world of blazers.

They share a lot parts & pieces with trucks but the reality of it is, their an all together different vehicle. (in a good way)

Grab a cold one, get comfy and start reading, it's all right here at your finger tips.

Thanks VT! I drove a late 80's blazer once, boy are they short!!! Everytime I went over a hill, I thought the back end was coming over ontop of me! LOL!!

Should be a fun ride. This one we found down the road, has the motor pulled and might be blown... I'm not too worried about that, got other motors I can drop in it until we rebuild it. I'm not much of a body person, and I'll have to learn the tricks of the blazers...
