62Vairs 64 C-20

Hi guys, been lurking here for almost two years figured I might as well introduce myself. My names Bill and I spend all my money and spare time on a 1964 C-20.

So far I have rebuilt the front and rear suspension and added front disc brakes.
I lowered the rear 4" and the front 2" using lowered half ton springs. Added a TKO 600 5spd (best money spent so far).
Wheels are off of a 2006 Chev 2500.
Anyway, just wanted to say hi and thank all of you for the good info I have picked up here.

Very nice, very clean truck. What's the TKO behind? Got any pics of the interior?
Congrats on making the transition from lurker to member.

Re: 62Vairs 64 C-20

Thanks 19GMC63.
TKO is behind a stock 70 something 350. Putting in a Comp Cams XE 268 and Summit cast iron heads, probably next weekend.
I haven't taken any pics of the interior yet. Pretty much stock except for the 2000 truck seats and smaller steering wheel, cause my gut seem to be growing with age.

Man that thing is super clean. Yeah we need more shots. Like the engine compartment and cab. You don't want Joe harassing you for photos you know.

Re: 62Vairs 64 C-20

I 'll try to get some tomorrow of the interior and new bed wood.
This truck was suppose to be a dump, Home Depot runner...
till I found this sight.

Re: 62Vairs 64 C-20

Thanks guys. More Pics! I may not do anything else in the interior...

PO for some reason thought it would be "cool" to cut these holes in the doors.
I added the insulation.

Oh yeah, Cali truck, no rust

That is really sharp man! That instrument cluster looks really good. Did you restore it, or is it still all original?

Also, welcome aboard!

Vair,

I was shocked to see your gas filler.

I have stolen, I mean copied many ideas from the site myself.

Thanks Corts60.
I worked on the instrument cluster some. Didn't have any luck with the finding green plastic for the cold light though

TR65, That's the one!! As soon as I saw that I knew I was gonna do the same thing. Copying is the best compliment or something like that, right?

"Imitation is the greatest form of flattery".

I really like your truck. Looks like you need some factory door checks.

Welcome to the forums from Kansas City, KS and remember to post early and often...especially photos, lots of photos.
