help with paint job

Hey guys i just bought this truck and i was wondering if any body could tell me what the color is? It is the origional paint job. Can you still buy this color? I kinda like it...think its a little different so i think i wanna paint it the origional color but shave everything and put on a front and rear roll pan. Me and my dad will do the metal work but not any paint prep so to speak so the body shop will have to do that. THis will also enable me to not have to paint the interior and save a few bucks and stillhave some "Origional" paint. Any idea what it will cost me to have this done? thanks for your help

I kinda like it too. We were going to change the color on my wifes 78, Its root beer brown metallic. After watching all the newer trucks running around I realized they don't make anything in brown anymore. After that we decided to leave it.

Man 67 C30 That truck is awesome. Love that 2 tone cab with the matching bed cover. I have never seen that color before. I think it's pretty cool.

Thanks man i appreciate it. I actually plan to make it my daily driver. I am deployed to iraq on a 365 right now, and on my midtour i am going to visit my dad who is a damn good welder(thats were the truck will be) and we are going to shave the marker lights, antenna, door, mirrors, trim and put a cowl hood and rear roll pan on. Then i am going to find a locall paint shop and have them respray the origional color so that when i get backfrom my deployment it is shiny and new lol. After that i will probably just drive the stock drivetrain till it craps out and put a fresh 350 in there. Nice stereo...etc and then go from there

I charge $25 an hour for restoration work, but that can get deep. Your truck looks to be in great condition, but of course if you were to block out the whole truck, I'm sure you could find all of the "invisible" dents, which would add up in costs for a good bodyman to work out. Any reputable paint store can match the paint color from your interior paint, however, sometimes there can be a very slight difference by the time it's sprayed and cleared. There's alot of factors to consider. The cost of materials (which varies greatly), and time involved in proper prep. Shop around, look at their work, etc...don't let the first guy you talk to paint your truck, unless he's the best at what he does. Most of my paint jobs run from $650-$2500.

i have no idea, but i will say it looks like Dark Brown Metallic.(indian bronze) ia an older Gm color.....Mostly on trucks, S-10s and blazers, and i have seen it on a few full size.......(i can try and get a code for you.......

That is a different ,,,any half way decent body shop should be able to match it..

Look on the SPID in your glove box, and it should either code 527 or 528 according to the chart below. I'm pretty sure your's is going to be dark gold poly.

yah the rims came with the truck. I like them to and i am glad they came with it, turns out they are forged two piece rims and are a little pricey.

well the link isnt working but they are from centerlines billet series, they are called thrusters and mine are 18s

One thing i did not think about was...Sorry if someone touched on this ,as i may have over read though it.....You could go to a quality Body shop and have them do a (profit) it is a tool that in a nut shell takes a picture of your Paint. It basically breaks it down and will spit out a formula...( In most cases ) it will allow for (some) sun fade and or age....Most factory colors are a (standard mix)....But there are some that are a LIGHT or DARK mix.......All of which could be done by tinting the color............Hope this helps a little....

i would think that they would (My Shop) would.......lol. Its about a 1,800 camera...lol .If you was not so far away,,,,I would just borrow ours for a few hours.lol

by the way My color is actually Dark Gold Poly according to the spid....Just realized i never clarified.
