Help! Wheel and Tire fitment w/bags question

I am running 20X8.5 in front and 22X10 in back with either a 5 or 5.5 b/s on the rims (I will check tonight) will these tuck in front and back? I am retaining the front inner fenders and trying not to cut the bed if I don't have to.
Also, will a 2 or 3 inch c-notch let the diff hit the bottom of the bed, if so, will my "soon to be installed" air bags stop before it does? Running gear > 2.5 inch drop spindles and RE7s in front with cups and plates and RE7 in back on stock trailing arms. Here is a pic of the truck with the actual rims taped to a picture (old skool style not photoshop)

Is the pic close to accurate when airred out????

Your differential will definately hit the bottom of the bed. I have a wood bed and When I dropped mine I did not anticipate that, now I had to install a rubber bump on my rear axle to stop the frame before it bottoms out and the differential cracks the wood. If yours is metal you might have alittle more clearance but minimal like ½ inch or so.

The rims were on the truck when I got it. I will be putting them on Craigslist soon!! The rims are actually hugger orange but the pic was taken with my cell and it doesn't do that great.

Do you have a c-notch also or did you just cut the rubber stops?

Re: Wheel and Tire fitment with bags question

I'd run a 5.5" BS front and rear.

BUT please measure yourself before you order. There are two different width rearend for these trucks.

I am running a 1971 rearend with drums, I measured and the inside of the drum lip is the same as my 67 rearend. Thanks for your help!

I have a 3 inch c notch. It looks really good all the way down but I do not want to modify the bed. So I have to place a rubber stop.

Did you have to cut the inner fender of the bedside for the rear to tuck with the 22s, if you are running 22s? I'm afraid a mini tub might be in my future!

The important measurement would be the wheel mounting surface or outside of drum to outside of drum.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

I'm actually running 20's with Low Profile tires, had I gone with the 22's I would have to make modifications. As of right now I can lower the truck all the way down (The wood bed is not installed yet) and my tires have about ½ inch of space to the side and about 1½ from the bottom of the wheel tub. I can drive it like that but any little bump would hit.

Thanks leo70,
I'm raising the bed up this weekend and rolling the frame under it to check out clearance and I will take pics in hopes that it will help others on the board too. I appreciate your help!
