Re: poly body mounts?
I've heard bad things about them being to stiff. But I have no personal experience with them.

Re: poly body mounts?
I just installed a set on my blazer about a month ago and everything seems fine so far. No squeeks or funny noises yet and I drive mine daily. My top now lines up right and the doors close alot better but it would have done the same with rubber body mounts too. Mine were totally shot. I just chose to save some money and get the poly ones.

Re: poly body mounts?
I have had poly on my K5 for 10yrs+
Works great! Just do NOT over tighten the mounts. You don't want to squeeze the mounts as they will not be able to flex. I used nylon lock nuts and just made the mount snugg without any squeese to the poly...been working great sence day one

Re: poly body mounts?
I ran em on a driver for a couple years, no issues with em at all.
When installing them, I smeared em with anti seize and they never made a sound. Although, now I've change my way of thinking and will never run them again, the factory rubber mounts lasted for 30 years and that's good enough for me. Putting the two 'kinds' side by side, you'll see the huge difference between them and how much more material there is to the stock ones. |
