whats wrong now?

troubleshooting dash gauges and wiring. Have changed gauges and installed new circuit board.the fuel gauge still did not work. bought new one and went to install it and now the new circuit board has burnt connection from dash plug to the battery gauge?? What the @#$% am i doing wrong? I think its wired correct by looking at the diagrams Blk/wht wire and a blk wire goint to the gauge. Any help PLEASE. Gary

Assuming you have a 67 to 72 then it sounds like you have the black ground wire wired into the gauge instead of the blk/ brn as in the diagram below.
what's the symtoms of the fuel gauge? Empty or past full?

thanks for the response. The gas gauge just oes not work. i have changed sending unit twice, new circuit board and now new gauge. I don't think gas guage is my circuit board prob, it is just that i found it when changing gauge. I will start looking at wire again. the circuit board i changed was not burnt, i just thought it might have issues because i couldnt get the gauges to work. gary

Have you checked the wire to the fuse block? I had problems a while back and it turned out the brown wire that runs through the door gutter had a bare spot in it and was grounding out.

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

i think i got the gauge part figured out it was just finding the circuit board burnt when i went to put in new gauge. the hot spot is in the 2 contacts that are going to the battery gauge. Thats my new problem. Thanks to all. gary
