700r4 tv cable help

I am putting a 700r4 in my '70 and I bought a B&M UNIVERSAL cable(i didn't know it was universal until after it arrived today) it says to measure the old tv cable and set it to the same length, I DON'T HAVE AN OLD TV CABLE

does anyone know the length of the wire and the length of the outside sheath so i can get my truck going again

here is the link to the cable

Re: 700r4 tv cable help

The picture of the cable you bought is terrible. It looks like it has a brass end to it that would have a set screw in it???
I am a big fan of the Lokar cables similar to this one. If it is the same, I would get the cable casing to fit into whatever bracket you have, and do not cut the extra inner cable, just take all of the slack out of the inner cable and tighten the set screw. I would think that the trans would short shift ( shift too early ) . I would test drive your ride, and take what ever tools you need to continue to tighten the cable until you get the trans to shift the way you think it should. My crystal ball says: 1-2 shift 18-22 mph. 2-3 shift 25-28. 3-4 40-45.
I am sure there will be other opinions, but just my 2 cents worth
