Lowering '73-91 CrewCab Dually's

Hey Guy's, Im taking on the task of lowering my '87 CrewCab Dually. Attempting a 6-8.5 drop. So far I have channeled the frame, flipped the rear axle. My question is would I be able to achieve the 6" drop in the front by installing 3" drop spindles and cutting 3" off the stock springs (approx 2 full coils).
...Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
