Gas Tank Bracket Pads

I'm getting ready to install my gas tank back inside the cab today, and would like to use the bracket pads I got from GMC Pauls. Any idea where they go? I don't remeber anything like this when I took the tank out.

I don't remember seeing those on any tanks I have removed. If someone reads this that has a 67-72 Factory Assembly Manual, it might show something in there. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Re: Gas Tank Bracket Pads

under the tank and at the lower bottom, there is a raised area where the cab mounts are if I am correct and the pads go there.

Re: Gas Tank Bracket Pads

I remeber taking out a long piece of tar backing when removing the tank, but nothing like what I got. Has no one used what I got from GMC Pauls?

I don't remember anything when I removed my tank from behind the seat.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Gas Tank Bracket Pads

I just put the tank back in, and put the pads near where the cab mounts where. After bolting the tank in I noticed that the tank dosn't even touch the floor. I'm not going to take the tank back out, so I guess those pads were a waste. Would still like to know where they are supposed to be used though.

Re: Gas Tank Bracket Pads

Ask and you shall receive.. They go on each side of the cab as shown in the pic.
