New avatar

I'm getting ready to add another web page documenting a tonneau cover installation and a C-10 to K-10 air dam coversion. Since I took some pics I'm updating my avatar.
Killer or just BAD? :p

You can always color-match primer.... Looks great to me.

BTW: I really like the grille. Your article about it on your site is really informative too.

What is the difference between the air dams? Mine is all torn up, it was the original one & has been through a crash which busted the front end & had rope tied under it that bent it out of shape to get my butt out from the dirt I was stuck in!

If you mean the difference between mine & Gerardo's, Mine is a fibreglass one that holds Monte carlo SS turn signals, the stock one is a rubbery-plastic type thing.

I meant between the C-10 & K-10 but that works too. Going to put lights in yours?

not sure yet, might use them as air ducts for a custom cold air intake or for brake cooling. I'll figure that part out later.

Tyler,
The differance is about 2". The stock C-10 is smaller compared to a K-10 air dam.
Take a look at this picture. See the size differance? Slonakers has the K-10 air dam while mine has the stock air dam in the picture. For more pictures go here.

I don't know if my air dam is the same as is used on a K10 or not. It might be. When I ordered it from the dealer, I just asked for one intended for a 3/4 or 1 ton. It is a little bit longer than one from a 1/2 ton, and I think it looks a little bit better on a tall truck. I checked, and the cost was the same as for a 1/2 ton air dam.

Good to know. I'll be looking for a new one soon as mine is beat up and on its last leg... I'm thinking about a fiberglass one - any problems I should know about it?

ditto!

I am not big on the luvers though. I like the smooth look(see 2nd pic in my sig). I will have to check into that air dam idea. My truck needs one bad.

Thanks for the compliments fellas.
The rake on the truck is due to the 235's and 255's. Soon the truck will be level. 1.5" springs going on the front with with current 2.5" spindal. The back will probably under a leaf replacement to level it off.

I'm not worried about the louvered bowtie. I had a piece of metal welded on the back side so no water could get inbetween the skin and the tail gate. One thing though, that tailgate sure is HEAVY. As for the airdam, it received it's first scrape as soon as I backed out of the driveway.

That's the difference between the fiberglass/urethanre and the factory airdams are. If it wasnt flexible it would probably still be laying on the driveway.
I had an oil pan that scraped that every now and then, that is until it started losing oil.
