trailing arm fabrication

I installed an EC rear drop kit last week and my trailing arms are in terrible shape. Rust had started to separate the two halves by as much as 1/2". I beat out as much rust as I could and welded them back together, but there are a couple of holes clean through the middle. They are working for now, but I was wondering if anybody had fabricated their own trailing arms, or knew a good link to someone who has? I can't bring myself to spend $600 on something that seems like it could be so easily fabricated.

Thanks

Re: trailing arm fabrication

There was an article on this a few days ago where they made their own for like 70$ including bushings. I would do a search. I dont remember who it was.
