36 Chev rear spring selection

I have a 1936 Chev Sedan with a 50's chev rearend with a SBC 350. I am now looking at replacing the back springs and do not think the ones I have are correct. How do I determine which ones to get? It will be used for street driving.

Here are some pictures of the car on the ground and on the hoist. When it is on the ground the leaf spring is straight out and looks flat. When it is on the hoist, there is a lot of arc and the shackle looks good. Is the spring bad , the shackle installed incorrectly or is it something else? How do you fix it?

Springs could be shot. Take them to a shop and see what they say.

Re: 36 Chev rear spring selection

Those rear shackles do not appear to be long enough. If that first pic of them is with the car on the ground that would be my call.

The springs appear to be fine but you might contact Posies to see if they have some replacement springs for your application. I was pleasantly surprised by their offerings when shopping leaf springs.
