70 c10 whats it take to lay it out
I Need Help FAST!!
ok looks like I'm going to be in a 1970 c 10 lwb fleetside and I want it low I mean flat out on the road. I plan on bagging it and a C notch on the rear but I'm lost to how low I can get the front...I plan on welding in cups just not sure what the results are going to be??? what else do I need to get it to lay out??? drop spindles?? how much?? I want to keep the origanal front member should I cut the lower A arm after I cup it do the same as drop spindles?? I want to convert to disc at some point ,so is there a way to do all this??? or do I need to do one or the other??? Help I have a low buget but lots of fab time with the welder...and I'm lost with all the info on this site thanx Jeff not sure of the wheel size but I think the 15" rims with a tall tire untill I can steal some 20's |

While it's definitely not my first (maybe last) choice to get a truck laid out, it's sounds like you should investigate a frame "Z".
Spend some time researching the choices as there are many threads here covering your options. Once you actually have the truck we can help you get going in the right direction...

u can z it or do like i did. i raised my cross member 2" and pulled it forward 1" to center the wheels. with the raised cross member and stock arms i had to pie cut the uppers and step the lowers. but im also running a 265/35/22. i also have 2.5" drop spindels. i have a thread on here. its called 22's on a stepside laid out. i did decide to go with a fleet side though. but check it out i have pics of everything.
