Lowering spring I.D.? Can anyone help? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

It was one of those deals I just couldn't pass up.
A full set of lowering springs for next to nothing, problem being, I am not sure of the drop.
The rear spring is stamped "SE383" and the front spring looks like "SE403"? The stamping is a little hard to read.
I'm making the rounds to all the truck part web sites, but not having much luck. Can anyone help?

where do you need the i.d. measured at?

What do they go on? How much drop are they supposed to be? What color are they? Give more details and you might have a chance at figuring them out.

sorry, i read that wrong! would the overall height help? i have a set of 3" drops i can measure.

They are supposed to be a 3" front and 4" rear - he thinks?????
They are painted black.
I don't think that the height of the springs will tell anyone much as coil stiffness and coil diameter all play a part in the overall drop.
I appreciate you guys taking the time to help me out.

I've noticed that CPP's part numbers for springs start with "SE" but the ending numbers don't match.

I failed to mention they were ordered for a 72 shortbed.

Any help? Anyone have lowering springs laying around, they can check the bottom/top coil for a stamping? Looking for "SE383" and "SE403". Thanks.

just a thought, but have you called CPP to see if they can cross-reference those numbers? they may have something that can show those numbers that may not be published or on their website
