Hey everyone,

I'm looking for some 3' drop spindles for my 72 GMC LWB with disc brakes. Does someone make these? Or do i need to get 73-87 spindles and change ball joints and outer tie rods?

As an added issue i'm in Canada so shipping from places like summit would kill me. Thanks for your help!

I've only seen 2.5" drop spindles... They might make a 3" but I don't know where.

You can use '73 and up and they are available in a 3" drop ... but you will have to change the ball joints and tie-rod ends.

Shane is correct. To add to that, keep in mind 3" spindles will cause conflicts if you plan to run 15" wheels "in most cases".

Is that because the rim will rub the lower ball joint?

SO what's the easiest way in your opinions to get a 5"-7" static drop? Keeping in mind i've got leafs in the rear and i can use a flip kit (5") and lowering shackles (2").

I have the same questions, I started a post on this page, but no replies yet.. I guess you just answered my question about the rear though.. I have coil springs in the rear

Belltech offers a 3" spindle for your 72. Like stated you will need a 16" wheel to clear lower control arm. I have the spindles on my 72

Using "some" 3" spindles and certain 15" wheels, you will have problems with the rims hitting the A-arms.

It has been discussed that narrow 15 Rallies don't cause a problem, and certain spindles are more prone to rub than others.

This usually only causes a problem at hard left or hard right turns. You can mod your A-arms to clear, or add an adjustable steering stop.

The best solution I have found is a large diameter wheel...

The 'outer' lip area of the lower a-arm directly adjacent to the BJ area does need to be trimmed for clearance (the wheel weights will hit). Other than that they fit.

Well i was hoping to keep my 15x8 rally wheels so i guess 3" spindles are out. Maybe 2.5" spindles and a 2" spring? Or DJM makes a lower control arm that will lower it 3". How do drop springs ride?

Flat stick-on weights that go on the inner side of wheel might help out in that situation.Hope it helps

I have the ECE 2 1/2 drop spindles and 2 inch drop springs and have clearance on my 15x7 rallys if that helps any

The wheel still rubs the a-arm which is not desirable IMO so the a-arm lip requires trimming.
