Consoles?
Here is a mock up of a console I want to fabricate so I can add cupholders and a modern radio without cutting up the dash. Question: if I put vents in the side, would that alone allow enough floor heat to pass thru,or do you think I would have to run flex hose to each vent?
Any body else have pictures of consoles you've installed? |

Re: Consoles?
That looks like a great mock-up. I would think that vents would allow enough heat to pass thru without having to run flexhose to them.

Re: Consoles?
Looks darn good to me. I would run hoses and buy some vents out of a later model truck to direct the heat where you want it.

Re: Consoles?
I have a console in my suburban, and do not use hoses.
I think it is better to use hoses because otherwise your whole console will heat up and also the rest of your dash, I think i am going to use hoses later on. The problem is, you probably have 4 outputs. 1 on each side and 1 in the front which directs the air to both sides.

Re: Consoles?
I agree! I have a a little kaddie thing on the floor for cd's, coinage, and drinks. Nothing like blowing a bunch of hot air on your cold drinks!

Re: Consoles?
Try using some PVC pipe and elbows to make it more rigid.

I never saw a custom "raisin bran" console before.
