pics of little lift bigger tires...

i want to see some people that take COG seriosly. i have been searching through the 4x4 pix section and i find one every few pages and no info.
could you guys post pics of your normaly lifted trucks with bigger 33 and up tires. i'm thinking of 37s and 4inch lift, moving the front diff forward and massaging the fenders. any other guys see my line of thought???

Re: pics of little lift bigger tires...

im not sure by what u mean massaging the fenders but 37s and a 4in lift with a the diff moved forward im not sure would work. It would still rub the back with just a little flex.
what kind of truck do u have?
if u do it post the pics.

Re: pics of little lift bigger tires...

i have a '70 3/4 ton CST that i am planning on going 4" and 37 hummer tires. i saw a good thread on this site where one of the members cut a wedge out of each side of the fender behind the lip and welded the pieces back. really engenious i think and still looked factory. planning on doing that and more.
planning on moving the front forward 1.5" with the zero rate relocators and cutting and welding the fenders. i'll try and attach a pic of my stock truck now on 33s.

The original lines of the fenders are changed a lot in those pics, looks like a
Ram Charger fender now.

What does 'COG' mean?

Here's another way of doing it keeping the factory arch intact.

What did you do to your blazer, what part did you cut?

just the front and move the axle forward? Because it looks very good, and i want to do something similar to my truck.

Used two fenders.

Cut out the wheel well out of the 1st, cut out the wheel well out of the 2nd, spliced pieces into the lip to enlarge it yet keep it the same shape as the factory did.

This was an experimentle fender, never made a finished set.

Front axle is moved forward.

Re: pics of little lift bigger tires...

i am not sure how much lift i have netted from all this so i took some measurements from the top of the spring pads to the bottom of the frame rails on all four corners right were it sits in this picture. notice it is not on level ground so it's not ideal.

front pass. behind the u-bolt plate was 8.5"

front drivers behind the u-bolt plate was 8"
rear drivers in front of u-bolt plate 14
rear pass. in front of u-bolt plate was 13.5"

Re: pics of little lift bigger tires...

Even if it is not ideal when it's all you can get you will still take it like my lift in the back is blocks. I have to get some other than what I have because that's just asking to break something.

Never buy a iphone they are garbage online takes forever and slow online and typing and you can't send pictures in a message.

Re: pics of little lift bigger tires...

Bmeredith: i really like the shackle flip. did you happen to use a stock front hanger? that's what i'm planning on doing as well. nice truck! a little extreme for my plans but helpful all the same.

Re: pics of little lift bigger tires...

yes i did use the stock front hangers just moved it 5-6" forward to fit the longer springs. i used ORD shackle flip with a DIY4X shackle. i put the shackle flips on backwards so that the offset on each is pointed back.
