Big block throttle cable

I have a 1971 chevy pick up, it came stock with an inline 6 cylinder. I now have a 454 with a quadrajet. Can i use a stock big block throttle cable? or do I have to use an after market lokar?

Re: Big block throttle cable

The bb and sb cable are the same cable. The 4x4 cable is shorter but have never seen a listing in any of the parts suppliers cataloges for a 6 cable so I am not sure about it's length. Hope this helps you.

Re: Big block throttle cable

I bought one of the cheap rice burner throttle cable kits from Autozone and used pieces of it for my throttle cable, worked out fine for me. I have a 68 with a 454. I'll try to download pics if you need them.....

Re: Big block throttle cable

I removed the small block from my truck and am in the process of putting a 454 with a blower in, and it looks like the stock small block cable will be fine. I would go with that if I were you.
