HEI swap question

Okay, I've read all the FAQ's and information that I could find on performing this swap (hopefully this weekend if it's back from the muffler shop).

One thing that has me concerned is the mechanical and vacuum advance. Some people seem to worry about adjusting these items and others slap it in.

My question is how different can the characteristics be from a 400 SBC to a 327 SBC. Should I worry about reworking the HEI dizzy first, or slap it in and then try adjusting?

Thanks,
MJ
