GM Vortec heads. If you can find them used they are a very good deal. You will need a Vortec intake as well. Price out all the parts before taking the leap. What are the casting numbers on your existing heads?

If you are getting cast iron used heads just make sure they are 64cc.

Re: what heads to run on 327 short crank

Honestly for the money nowadays by the time you spent the money on a set of heads then have them worked with bigger valves and seats and studs and guide plates its cheaper to buy a set of aftermarket aluminum ones. Jegs has some pretty good deals on their brand as well as lots of other compaines. Patriot performance seems to be selling pretty well and are pretty cheap. I dont know the quality as ive never had a set or know anyone who does but the reviews are pretty good. Hope this helps.

Yes 350 heads will work, and I would think that the vortec heads would be a bad way to go as they aren't a high RPM turning head. But that is just my opinion and what I have gathered.
