Brake line Q? - should i replace the tee blocks?
So I'm replacing my old nasty brake lines with new lines and I am not sure whether I need to replace my brass tee blocks on the front x-member and rear axle with new pieces. Are they reusable or will I not be able to get a seal with them?

Andy, as long as the internal threads are in good shape, there is no reason to replace the blocks. They dont wear out. Just clean them up good, inside and out. When you reassemble the lines to the block, tighten then back off on the nut a few times. This will provide for a good seal between the double flare on the tubing end and the inverted flare inside the block. This is sometimes more necessary when using stainless tubing rather than oem steel ! I also like to use a drop or two of brake fluid on the threads for lubrication instead of assembling them dry.

Re: Brake line Q? - should i replace the tee blocks?
The only problem you might run into is the flare seat on the brass tee. There soft and the original tube might have sealed in a different spot that the new line. If the seat looks really bad as if someone in the past did something than replace it. If your the first to undo it it should be fine. If you have any problems we sell a flare saver package that would solve any leak issues. Check out the parts section on the web site.
Thanks Mark

Thanks guys, one of the blocks looked fine on the flare seats but the other looked a little pitted and I am using stainless lines so I guess I'll have to see how i get on with leaks once I get everything back together. Those flare savers look like they might be very useful, thanks for the tip.
