Gas gauge help
I recently got my gas guage hooked up in my 72 chevy stock tank behind the seat. When i turn the key it always goes up to about 3/4 tank and stays there, even when its basically empty. What could be the problem?

Re: Gas gauge help
Might be a stuck float in the tank.

Re: Gas gauge help
You will have to remove the float from the tank to see if it's the prob, but it could also be the resistor prob these are found on the back of your gauge, also check the Brown earth wire from tank to F/B.

Re: Gas gauge help
before you take the sender and float out of the tank, remove the tan wire from the sender and see what reading you get. It should go past full. Then ground the tan wire on the side of the sender or any good ground and the needle should move to the left past empty. If these things happen then the problem is in the sending unit or float.
