Re: Different brake assist systems?
Yes the synthetic is touted as better.
Most people use the synthetic when they are having problems. Also the synthetic is supposed to eliminate the micro bubbles in the system. Microbubbles seem to be the root cause for many problems. Mick |

Re: Different brake assist systems?
Go with the hydra boost. Like mentioned before it was designed for vehicles with low amounts of vac like diesels. With this system you could go crazy with cam, radical cams produce inadequate vac to operate vac power boosters. Actually just do whatever you like, unless you get a vac booster from 67-72 you are going to have to do some fab work. However, it should be easy to scope out an original vac booster in salvage yard for you truck. I helped my buddy put one from a 72 in his 69 was an easy bolt in install. If you go this route, you will need to get the booster, mounting bracket, and linkage (complete to the pedal) from the donor vehicle. His truck was non power drum set up, used existing mastercylinder and lines, just bolted on power stuff with no issues....well we did have to adjust the brake light switch which is a real pita to get the brake lights to operate properly. Good luck with whatever system you go with!
