Original harness has a ground wire, plus the big red and the other two that ran to the regulator. Black wire was grounded to the rad support and the other end to the alt. Might want to add one if it is not there.

When I pulled out the original 307 my alternator was grounder to the manifold heat shield. After the new motor went in I didn't realize that I hadn't hooked it back up. killed my battery trying to get the new motor started. Once it did start and ran couldn't get battery to charge. Found the Rogue gound wire and stuck it right to the inner fender lip. it works perfectly. I believe that the alternator diagrams are on the site Electrical Forum and a "sticky" Under wire diagrams. Have a look. A ground is necessary.

The battery is grounded to the chassy, and its a new big fnn wire, I give up, I still havent check the PUSH START BUTTON, maybe its that.???

The battery ground doesn't go to the engine block first?

Hey GrapDawg, thanks alot man!!! I added an xtra ground wire to the alternator and it works, turned it on and diconnected the positive and it stayed on!!! thanks a mill man!!! thanks everyone else you guys saved me a trip to the shop. woo hooooooooooooo
