New Guy from MD
Hello all,
I am from MD and have a 1974 K20 Custom Deluxe with a custom diamond plate flat bed, 350, auto, w/ factory alarm, split rims, factory am/fm 8 track, unknown gear ratio (it ain't fast, but it can pull a whole lot). My father bought the truck in '75 or '76 from a guy who wanted to trade it in on another truck but was mad about what the dealership wanted to give on the trade and my father was there to get a new truck and heard what was going on and offered the guy a higher amount than the dealer and it's been in the family since. He bought a '87 K20 to take over horse trailer duty and parked the '74 in '00. I asked if I could tag it and run it in '03 after a near wreck in my 2wd S-10 on a nasty winter moning coming home from 3rd shift. My wife has come to loathe it since almost every time she rides in it with me something will break, I tell her it's the Chevy truck version of "Christine". This last time was the worst, I didn't know I had an oil leak till it was too late and spun a bearing. My dad picked up a running 350 out of a '79 Chevy car, I'm going to use the truck's heads and put on a mild Edelbrok intake I got from the wife's cousin, the Holley carb I put on the original a few years ago, a MSD 6 or 6A (can't remember which) box I picked up a few years ago, a Mallory dual points distributor I picked up a few years ago, a set of Summit headers, a set of shocks to replace the originals that are starting to leak. This warmer spring weather has been getting me in the mood to degrease and paint up the new engine and get her rolling again for the summer. |

WV is a great state, my mom's side of the family came from the Terra Alta area, still a few relatives up there. Definately a favorite place for me.
