Bench Seat Differences

What are the differences between a 1967-68 bench seat and a 1969-72 bench seat? The last owner of my 1971 C10 installed a late model power bench seat. I want to replace it with one that is closer to what it was. I was able to find a bench seat that needs to be reupholstered. I think it is a 1968 but I am not positive. I am not sure if I need foam for a 67-68 or foam for a 69-72. Thanks for the help.

Re: Bench Seat Differences

From what I understand... The early bench seats had a thing layer of foam on the bottom over the springs that was about 2 1/2 to 3 inches. The springs sort of curve on the seat bottom and the foam lays over them. Personally, I haven't seen the newer ones with the thicker foam.

I've also heard that some of the real early seats (67's) tilted forward.

If you look at pictures of foam from some of the catalogs like LMC you can see the thicker foam bottoms.
