looking for pic of 4x4 frame

hey guys.just curious if anyone has a pic of a 4x4 frame from a 72 swb fleetside? the reason i am asking........is the front passenger side of mine at the top has what looks like a slight bow on it.....wish i had a pic.........i am not sure if this is a stock bend or what.any pics or help would be great.thanks chuck.

I'm guessing by your description, it is the same "bow" as seen in the pic in the thread below. This pic s a 2wd frame but the front framerails are the same 2wd or 4wd. This is normal.

Are you talking about the area near the motor mount location (where you see the yellow cord in the pic) where the metal is bent up on the inside of the passenger side of the frame like shown in this pic?

This is a 4wd lwb frame.

yes yukon.that is the spot i am talking about.why is it bent up there?..........just wasn't sure why the factory did that.thanks for your post.

I don't have a clue why it is like that, was wondering that when I painted the frame.

I have found all 4x4 frames are like that, I was told is was to do with the placement of the front differential but am not possitive about that.

The two wheel drive trucks also have that same bend. It is just from 68-72 most of it is cut out to make room for the Big Blocks. If you look at a 67 frame it has that bend in it and it hasn't been cut, because a big block wasn't an option for 67s. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com
