Suggestions for my 72' Cheyenne

I need some ideas for a system to go in my truck. It's a 72 Cheyenne and I'm pulling the take out from behind the seat (mainly to make room for some subs). I'm thinking I'll go with two 10" JL W3s or W6s with an appropriately sized amp. I'm not sure what type of head unit, mids, and highs I'll need to run. What does everyone's setup look like?

Few things you need to look at are budget, desired quality, usual listening volume, type of music you listen to, stealthy install?, desired speaker mounting locations (doors, kickpanels?), etc.

Then we can point you in the right direction.

Well as for the dash, I don't mind cutting it to make room for a double din (I actually prefer this). The highs and mids, I would like to have look like they are supposed to be there (wherever I decide to mount them). I don't mind paying the extra buck for quality either. As far as listening goes, I like just about everything but mostly Classic Rock, Rap, and Country (weird combination, I know). I might crank it up every now and then, but not to a deafening level, and I love bass...

Twin 10W3's and a set of Pioneer TS-C720's powered by a JL audio 800.5 or Arc Audio KS900.6

Look at a couple mid range Kenwood, Pioneer, or Apline decks.

Still need an idea of a budget... $1k, $2k, ... Quality means a lot of different things depending on the price Another question, are u installing yourself or paying someone to do it?

AceX has some good choices there, but then again, it still depends on your budget. That's over $1k w/out a headunit. (Although it would sound like it cost much more if set up correctly.)

Yeah, slap a good EQ and some time tuning, and you can do wonders with dam near anything. The JL 800.5 Might be a better choice because it would be easier to tune/gain match.

Around $2k would be good, I'll be installing myself. So, you're saying I'll run subs and everything on the 800.5?

Yes. The JL 800.5 is a 5 channel amp with a dedicated sub channel. It's basically a 4ch and a sub amp in one.

If your budget is $2k and you're doing the work yourself:

Deck: Pioneer P800
Subs: JL 10W3's
Amp: JL HD800.5
Speakers: Pioneer TS-D1720

I've got a JL Audio 500.1 and two 12" JL W3s. I'm probably going to go ahead and get the 10" W3s whenever the time comes, but since I already have an amp for my subs, which amp should I look for to drive the other speakers?

Are you going to show the other amp? If so, a JL 300/2 or 300/4 is a good choice. I can't stand it when someone builds a good show display and doesn't have matching equipment.

If it isn't going to be shown, an Arc Audio KS300.4 or KS125.4 Mini will no disappoint.
