I got my Summit dual conversion last week. Haven't had time to put it in, but I was impressed with the quality. Headers are a little thin on the tubing, but the pipes are aluminized and I think the mufflers are too. Didn't expect that for the price. Headers. pipes, mufflers, clamps, and hangers for $240.00 at my door. They do exit in front of the tires, but I plan to have pipes bent to go out the back also.

I have been running the summit headers for about 6 months and I love them. They added a lot of performance however I do regret not getting the coated headers because mine look like crap now. Other than that I have nothing to complain about.

My dad used the headers and they are great except they don't look so nice now.

Yup ! I figured the paint wouldn't last long. Good to hear from actual installers. Now I know I will sand blast & paint mine with a high quality paint before installation. Couldn't justify the extra expense for the coated ones.....but maybe I should have. Something for other potential buyers to consider. Not pretty throwing open the hood on a nice vehicle, with a shiny new motor, and seeing rusty tubing snaking around the engine!!! Been there, done that, don't like it. Later

No paint will ever live on headers...at least, not after you drive it.
As for the mufflers, about 5 years ago I knew a guy who blew a set out in less than a month. They replaced them free of charge and he replacements only lasted 7 months. |

hey do you guys know if i get my summit headers sandblasted and then powdercoated white and baked and all that will it last a long time?
