Putting together a 72 Blazer with a 465 trans. Trying to decide if I should go with the $100 Autozone special or upgrade to a better setup.

I always upgrade.It may be overkill,but I`m totally sold on Centerforce Dual-Frictions.I`ve bought three for three trucks and the pedal pressure would never reveal the holding power.One truck had 650 ft lb torque with 44" Swampers and was a competition bogger and the othertwo were diesels work trucks that I put many miles on.

I gotta agree, I have one on my blazer with a stock motor and you would never be able to tell by driving it, the pedal actually feels softer than the clutch it replaced.

+1 more on the centerforce, the more gas you give it, the more the more pressure it applies

I was looking at the Centerforce, Does anyone sell it cheaper than Summitt Racing $299 ?

Try Drivetrain Direct.I`m pretty sure they are under 4 Wheel parts Wholesalers.Figure they are the Summit/Jegs of 4wd trucks.That`s where I got mine.They aren`t the cheapest option.I guess the other two lower grades are a bit cheaper.You could go with the replacement unit.It is the same design that uses weights,just no increased holding pressure.Ceryainly better than stock replacement.

I am also using the centerforce dual friction clutch with the weighted presure plate. Spend the extra you won't regret it.

I am sold on the Centerforce Dual Friciton clutch as well. Had one on a 350, 454, and 8.1L. Not different Centerforces….but the same clutch and pressure plate on 3 different engines over the past 10 years. That clutch won’t die. Well worth the money.

i had some "stage 3" dual for a 300gt i had a few years ago.. you HAD to wear hard soles shoes to shift...

but that centerforce is in a 500plus hp mustang me and a buddy built .... i can trive it with just my toes.. i was expecting something totally different...
IMHO the centerforce is definatley an elegant beast..
