strange engine problem
ok it takes for ever to get up to higher seeds it feels like its in a low gear but u can feel it shift but it takes allot more of me pressing the gas peddle to get up to the right speed it started working right the other day but then when i went to go fill up i took off the gas cap and there was allot of pressure built up into the gas tank then i went to go drive off the engine power was an issue again
i have a sbc400

Re: strange engine problem
sis you ever find the vacuum leak you spoke about earlier??? could the timing be too retarded?( sometimes they go out of adjustment on its own if the distributor is loose )

Re: strange engine problem
prolly not timing then... your truck is too old for computers so it cant be a sensor.... im thinking it may be time for a carbuerator rebuild or maybe a real good cleaning something may be gummed up

Re: strange engine problem
I would still check the timing and the fuel filter. Also, is the sock in the fuel tank causing you some issues. It may need to be taken care of.
