5.3 Question.....

I got a question for you guys... When i do my 5.3 swap can i still buy a power programmer (like superchips programmer) and use it on my truck since it will still have the port to hook it up

Yes you can still do that but i wouldn't spend my money on a programmer like superchips.i would rather get a tune from like hp tuners it works a lot better than the programmer and is cheaper, guys around here do tunes for aroung 250 which is like half the price of a superchips,

Check local programming gurus. They can program the ECM to fit your truck and modifications.

John Spear at speartech in Anderson Ind. 300 bucks to program and remove un necessary functions and all recalibrations if needed are free + shipping for your pcm. Stand alone engine harness 800 dollars. Great guy to deal with and always time to talk to customers.

Handhelds are worthless compared to a custom tune.

They also cost more
