I could see one of those white collar guys, you know the type, too much money, all the toys, never a dirty finger nail... Some one like that might pick this thing up, thinkin most every guy on here would rather do the work him (or her) self.

That truck is located somewhere here in Missouri. I have never seen it first hand... at least I don't think I have.
It is clean and put together rather nicely, I'm just not seeing the $65k.

Re: anyone seen this 4x4? $65K
The guy joined this site last week but I haven't seen him post. I know him pretty well. My truck actually beat that one about 4 years ago. IMO it could have gone to either truck. He took it home after that show (Midwest Nationals) and totally went through the truck coming back with it looking like it does there. Good guy, young and loves these old trucks. I would not be surprised at all that he has close to that in the truck. I have seen it.

Both trucks come from the same family. Nate, check out the banner on the canopy in the background.

Re: anyone seen this 4x4? $65K
All I can say is,the nicer they are the most they cost. The truck is beyond restored,it`s show.Is still say it needs a $695 cargo lamp to be worth that.
All it takes is one person with deep pockets.I`m sure he know his market is slim. That`s why it`s on Ebay for worldwide exposure.

Re: anyone seen this 4x4? $65K
if you cant build it buy it. nice trucks are nice and all but this does not apeal to me at all. trucks should earn there keep. that thing is like a stuffed hunting dog to me. at one time it he hunted and helped put food on the table but now you just pick him up under your arm take him to poker night and talk about how good he was back in the ol' days. if I spent that much dough on a truck you would have to have a class a to drive it and id have to have alot of work for it.

Re: anyone seen this 4x4? $65K
I have seen the red truck at World of Wheels in Kansas City the past two years, as well as, at the KS Agriculture Expo car show last year. He is a member of the Chevy/GMC truck club of Kansas City.
Seeing the truck in person, I am not surprised there is $65K in labor, parts and materials. It is stunning in every detail and fit, finish & quality is unequaled. It is definitely a high quality show truck and very tastefully done. I am a 4-5-6 Chevy truck guy, but that one is a real eye-catcher. Last edited by LILRED66; 04-19-2009 at 02:31 AM. |

Re: anyone seen this 4x4? $65K
I don`t let what I don`t want bother me.If I had the money and wanted that I`d pay that. But,I wouldn`t even if I had the money because I would want to build it.And,that`s just me living life my way.I`d build it different with my $65,000 and it wouldn`t show, but to those who really knew what they were looking at.No one believes I put $45,000(mostly my work) into my`95 Chevy work truck, except those who knew what they were looking at.Most took one look at the utility bed and their minds turned off.I had just as many say,"man, that`s a truck guy`s truck",or,"I want one just like that.I wouldn`t change a thing."The utility bed cost $4,500 off the loading dock,unpainted/unmounted.After fabbing aluminum diamond plate box tops & Tailgate protector, ladder rack, having Charcoal Metallic base coat/clearcoat powdercoating applied to rear bumper/box tops/rack,then dark grey Line-x applied to inner and upper surfaces of the rack and bed interior,4 l.e.d.tail lights/side markers, strobes, custom made tonneau out of Herculiner truck tarp material in grey to match the interior,12v Honeywell generator/onboard air compressor, stainless hardware/steps,and paint I had alot of money into that bed.
Most wouldn`t do that.But,that`s what I wanted.
