the dreaded RUST!

Today I was out bsing with my friend there I noticed some tree sap. I started to wipe it up & noticed it wasn't a spot ON the paint, but UNDER it. I scratched off the paint & it was RUST!!!! NOOOO!!!!! My truck is rust free!!!!! The spot is a little bit smaller than a pencil eraser.

How is the best way to get rid of this so it doesn't become cancer? I have touch up paint & am thinking of just buying a touch up paint kit that comes with sandpaper, primer, and clear coat and using that stuff. Would this be adequate?

I know what you mean man! I wased the salt off my truck, and look at the bottom of my door!!!! J/K. Anyways, I think to sand it and paint that spot would be the only good way to fight off the rust.
