Re: Slow windows
First check if the windows are properly seated in the channels. Remove the door panel and grease the rails. Use a lithium based grease. Its thinner and lighter.
Upgrade to a 100 or 120 amp alternator. You can find them on 84-86 Camaros. The alternators will have V-belt pulleys. You can upgraded your current alternator up to 120 for only a few bucks if you do the work yourself. If you want extreme like me, I installed an 08 145 amp alternator!! |

Re: Slow windows
Your trucks an '87. most likely it's time to replace those old window motors.
On the cheap side, you could take them out and clean them with some electrical cleaner real good, sometimes they get gummed up. Most likely, it's just time to replace them, $45 or so a piece.

Re: Slow windows
I replaced both my motors on my 87. They are just as fast as the newer vehicles.

Re: Slow windows
also check for bad grounds and lose connections, I was only getting 7 volts to motor, and with a jumper box they would roll up just fine, so I switched to manual, then half a year later I was tired of my faulty so I rewired it

Re: Slow windows
I put relays on my origional 84 motors and they were very fast. Cheeper than buying new motors, worst case your out a couple bucks.

The motors from Auto Zone are cheap, both in price and build quality.
