well just got back from phonex city alabama

man there are some great ol trucks down that way... made a deal with a friend from florida on his 79 4x4, hes finaly decided its not gold plated and came down on the price to 1500.00
i bene wanting it for years, but he really didnt want to sell, and i wanst paying 6 to 7000 for it..lol now its only had around 500 miles put on it in the last 11 years.. less than 10,000 miles on it in the last 20 years.. as far as i know he has about 10,000.00 in the motor, but its basicly just sat since he drives a truck, 11 yrs ago he had to totaly go through the top end when the cam lobes rounded off, so he rebuilt the top end, new exhaust... no i dont have pictures of it, and wont be picking the truck up until around thanksgiving.. i am buying it basicly for the 454 and the built 400 turbo.. i need a 4x4 like i need a hole in my head...lol... i figure i will rade the rolling 4x4 chassis off for a decent crew cab dually, or hope to.. hopeing to get moved down there in the next year or so..

Re: well just got back from phonex city alabama

well it was a emergency trip, so no time to do anythign but get on a plane an go home... as for the truck i dont need a 4x4, i like to head way up in the hills to much, places a lwb truck has no real reason to be in..lol.. more or less it will depend on what shape it actually is in now adays.. i havent seen the truck in 11 years.. used to be in great shape with just the paint fadeing.. but the salt air off the gulf has doen a number o it he says.. so until i go get in november cant really say what shape its in, my idea of rough is the body is barely hanging onto the frame..lol.. his idea of rough is surface rust..lol so who knows.. hopeing the engine and tranny are good, becasue they will go in the next crew cab i get...
