67-69 Door Mirror Mounting
Does anyone have any measurements on where the original holes are to mount/drill holes to mount some 67-69 door mirrors? I opted to go with 70-72 door mirrors and the original hole were filled in. Those mirrors did not work out so I purchased the correct mirrors to install on both doors but I can't tell where the original mounting holes were. Does anyone have any measurements for both doors? Thanks.

Re: 67-69 Door Mirror Mounting
I looked at some doors that came off a 68 and the holes are 1/2" below the body line and 3" from the front edge of the door.

Re: 67-69 Door Mirror Mounting
-That's where I just put mine - it works out so that the top of the mirror bracket is flush with the body line.

Re: 67-69 Door Mirror Mounting
If your 67-69 doors were originally drilled for the mirrors you have now, just take off the door panels and you will see where they were filled in from the backside.

Re: 67-69 Door Mirror Mounting
There is suppose to be 3 holes to mount the mirror base. My 68 has the holes drilled as follows.
1. 1/2 in down from body line, 2 5/8 from front edge of door. 2. 1/2 in down from body line, 6 1/8 from front edge of door. 3. 1 1/2 in down from body line, 4 1/2 from front edge of door. 4. Holes are 27/64 in dia. There should be a backing plate with matching threaded holes to go on the inside of the door. All measurement are to c/L of holes. Hope this helps. |
