71 Parts Truck, Canadaian? Worth 300?

Hi all, I am probably going to buy a parts truck if I can find room to put it

It is a 1971, and according to the plate inside the door it was made in Canada. Is there anything good or bad about this?

I has the usual rust (though cab has been repaired long ago...long enough to start rusting again), no transmission, and a blown motor. I do think it is worth 300, I am just curious of your input on anything that might be something to look for on it.

However I have to ask what parts are you looking for from this truck?
It looks like most of the body panels are dinted, so they're not too much good for you
your not pulling a grill from that truck
you can't use the tranny
the engine is of limited use.

Look at the parts you want to (and CAN use) from the truck, and then price out those parts from a store. If you can get more then 300 worth of parts out of the truck it's worth it. Factor in getting the truck back to your place in the cost too.

The cab should be worth that much, its defiantly looks to be in repairable condition from what can be seen.
Also disc brakes? (scratch that, there is no booster!) what rear end, looks like a 5 lug setup. possibly good fenders, inner fenders core support and hood?
if the motors rebuildable, the core is gotta be worth $100
also column, heater box, glove box door, heater controls, and good looking glass!
i would say its defiantly worth it as long as your not going far out of your way to get it

I'd say it is a '69 six cylinder with a nose job and v8 transplant. Looks like some good parts though.

Looks worth it to me. Cost out the parts that are good. That alternator bracket is hard to find.

It's probably worth a lot more if you can find the other high heel shoe to match!!

Im not sure on these trucks but ive heard the canadian frame for impalas are stronger so maybe you get a little extra

This is kind of what I was getting at about it being built in Canada I thought perhaps some things might have been built tougher, maybe to help survive the winters up there a bit better? So no offence was meant to any Canadians

THanks for all the input folks. For my use, I can use probably about 140 bucks worth of parts at this point for my 71 but can use the full wiring harness on my 68 that is located in Alabama. I am one of those people who likes having the parts there if I need them. This is why I have too many junk cars at the moment, I have to get rid of some in order to get this truck. Anyone interested in some first gen RX7 parts cars, or a wrecked 87 Jetta?

I don't know if the engine is the original....it does have the 350 badges on the side, that look like they have been there a long time, might be original also.

I believe it is 5 lug wheels, but looked like the steel wheels had more lug holes in them. Might be worth something to someone too.

The truck is actually located about half a mile from my house, but where I probably would have to store it is 30 miles off. Though it may be possible I can store it at my house.

I considered cutting out the rocker panels to put on my truck, but would hate to mess up a solid cab.
