3/4 ton 2wd aftermarket wheels - what fits?
I've got to get a new set of wheels for my truck. The old chrome ones on it, well, suck. They're not my style. They look good on the E350 cargo van I just bought, so now they're residing there.
My truck is using the Ford's stock gray steelies now. Ironically I think I like it a bit better this way. But... I've found a ton of 3/4 ton wheels out there for the modern Chevy trucks. Most seem to have a 4.5" backspacing on them. Will these work on these old trucks? The Ford wheels have a 4" backspacing and seem to fit with no issues - I never went lock to lock with the steering, but I'm a touch more worried about the rear tire clearing the bed inner wheel well. I'm worried about that extra 1/2 inch or so, as well as the width of the tires that I'd end up getting. I recently found and fell in *love* with the American Racing ATX series "Artillery" wheels. I'd like to get 'em in 20's and put them on that truck. The wheel is 9" wide, and has a 4.5" backspacing. -12mm offset. It's the *only* style they make for the 8x6.5" log pattern. If you have aftermarket wheels on your 3/4 ton, mind posting some pics? I'm open to different styles, but have always liked the star type patterns the best. Thanks!

I'm in the process of looking too. Just be aware - the Ford 8-lug has the same bolt pattern, but the hub diameter is larger. I believe the Chevy is 4.280.
There's some nice wheels out there that don't have the Chevy hub diameter. |

The 16" x 8" Rockcrawlers I pulled had 4.25" BS. I think 4.5" BS on a 9" rim would work. Best to mount one and see if possible.

Re: 3/4 ton 2wd aftermarket wheels - what fits?
Actually the Ford wheels I just put on my truck have a smaller diameter than the aftermarket chrome wheels I removed. Any way you look at it, if the wheels are torqued properly it shouldn't matter.
And, of course, '99 and up Ford trucks have that new 8x170 bolt pattern. Most of these new wheels are made for the new trucks - specifically Dodge and Chevy. I don't know what the new trucks have for a hub diameter, though.
