have you seen this before???

So somewhere along the way my dad found a nice 67-72 parts truck and decided to bring it home and add to the collection. After seeing the truck I was amazed to see a tool box built right into the box(not sure if its a tool box, just what I call it for now). I have seen this once before on a friend of a friends truck, it seams my dad bought the truck from him and it was his parts truck for that build.
Pretty much my question is, when were the boxes produced, if at all and how rare are they???

I've enclosed a pic, any info is greatly appreciated!

holy crap!

i dont have much idea of what the numbers were, or what models the came on and what not, all i know is that it is rare, especially in canada, to find a truck with a toolbox like that in that nice of shape. from the pictures, it looks like there is not a speck on it..

holy crap!

They are somewhat rare, but a perfect door will go for about $300, same with that rust free inside of toolbox you have. I see that that truck is a 133" WB with an 8' bed, either it is a K30 or a Longhorn 4x4 conversion, either way it is sweet.

I'm thinking that this tool box was optional when the truck was ordered ???,

Factory option. Not all that rare, but very desireable.
