Back dating a box body
I have a 82 Silverado but have always been a fan of the 73-80 front ends. I was wondering if everything would line up correctly between the 2 front clips because my buddy has a front clip off of a 75 that he will give me due to the fact that the fenders need replaced because of rust.
thanks for your help |

Re: Back dating a box body
Yes it will bolt up. There will be a couple of issues that you need to address.
The 73-80 bumper is shaped different and so are the frame horns. You can cut them off the donor truck and add them to your 82. Wiper stands are different as well. You will need to use the earlier stands. Get the body bushing from the donor clip too. Anything I am forgetting?

Re: Back dating a box body
I would also use the 73-80 interior
79-80 dash, and 77-80 door panels with the correct door handles
