Heavy Duty Front Springs
Anyone install them on a 2WD? I'm looking to raise the front an inch or so. Here's the part number for the Moog springs:6560
Would like some feedback to see if these would be compatible or not. I plugged in that my truck was a c-10 1-ton 2wd. |

Re: Heavy Duty Front Springs
those if they are the thing m thinking will not lift your truck that much ... they are for a higher load rating tho and have tighter coils for heavier weight capacity

Re: Heavy Duty Front Springs
I have those moog 6454's on my c20 and 1.5 lift blocks at the rear. they are the HD 3/4 ton and LD 1 ton springs. They lifted my truck between 1.5 to 2 inches but they ride super rough unless the road is perfect.
6452's are the LD 3/4 ton and HD 1/2 ton springs. I think they all swap around physically though. They will raise it a good bit if you have a 1/2 tonner. Before and after I'm thinking about lowering it again to get some ride quality back. They just paved most of the roads I drive on though so I may wait a while...lol Last edited by 78 Chevyrado; 04-24-2009 at 12:11 AM. |

Re: Heavy Duty Front Springs
Thanks Kenny.. I think I'll try the 6452's.
Is yours 2 or 4wd? and What size tires are you running? |

Re: Heavy Duty Front Springs
It's 2wd and the tires are 265/75/16's.
I'm not sure, for sure how much the 6452's will lift it, but they are supposed to be the stock replacements for what my truck had before I lifted it, though my truck will be heavier than a 1/2 ton. Mine weighs around 5100lbs with both tanks full of gas and me not in it. I forgot to add.... When I put my new 6454 springs beside one of my old springs they both looked exactly the same height, just the 6454's were made of thicker wire. so all my lift comes solely from the springs being stiffer, not taller. |

Re: Heavy Duty Front Springs
I believe those are the same springs (with the addition of a ball-joint spacer) I had on my old 78 blazer. With the springs and fiberglass fenders I was able to run 35". If your looking for a 2wd lift you could probably get a better ride from a custom set of springs (ie:national spring)

Re: Heavy Duty Front Springs
It's a shame you are not wanting to lift it more. I have a set of 3" lift springs that I am getting ready to take out of my truck.
