Elec Choke

IS THE WIRE TO THE ELEC CHOKE TO BE HOT ALL THE TIME THE SW IS ON? CAN I HOOK IT TO THE HOT WIRE GOING TO THE DIST?

You can hook it up to the switch, I did. My Dad has his hooked up to the hot alt. wire. That way if the engine dies and he isn't in it then the choke will not continue opening until he starts the engine again. Good idea, however we don't tend to leave our vehicles unattended around here.

you dont want it hot all the time. it would drain the battery. guess you could hook it to the dist, but if you have an hei you might have trouble.

Some1 correct me if I'm wrong:You need a 4 prong relay- to this relay--1)acc wire-hot when u turn on key...2)hot wire from battery..3) ground wire..4) wire to the choke...

That's Correct, err...I think. The easiest way to do it is to run a hot wire from your choke to your fuse panel and screw it on to somethig that's connected to your switch. For the ground on the choke, just tighten it down on the carb hold down bolts. To get creative, run an inline indicator light in your cab to let you know your choke is working! OK, the only reason I did that is because I had one there already for something else! I don't think it has to be fused, but it's never a bad idea, unless it's the hot going to the starter. hehe
