Re: show me your swapped seats

here's mine when they were brand new paid around $250 for them 2 years ago

the only bad thing about the seats is they faded from medium blue to almost white

but you get what you pay for, that's what started the street rod interior

Re: show me your swapped seats

I've got the same seat that cjracing has, but in blue. I'll try and get some pics of it. The only one I have of it only shows the corner of it.

and yeah, I consider them swapped just because theyre something different from your traditional bench. And they were a swap for me

Re: show me your swapped seats

What about using late model seats? I almost bought a set from a 99 model but wasn't sure it would work right. Would I be correct in thinking they don't fit easily?

Re: show me your swapped seats

Here is a couple of not so great shots of mine.
Out of a early 90's Suburban.
I used the brackets that came with the seats which were metal plates. The fronts fit fine and used the original outer holes, had to drill the inner holes and the bracket was bent down along the rear as it formed to the floor pan. Seeing as the truck floor bends up as it doesn't continue on I had to bend the brackets up. I used a vice and a BFH.

Question 74-82 bench seat compatibility

quick question:

would a bench seat from a 74 c2500 dually bolt into an 82 c10?

the reason i ask:

today at the scrap yard i stumbled across a pretty stripped out 74 dually. i salvaged the cab molding ($4.15) and noticed inside the PO had some odd ball buckets in there. seems he made the bracketry outta one piece of 1/4 inch steel plate. the buckets in there aren't worth anything, but i have a pair of 98-01 silverado seats i've had forever. with the factory 98-01 silverado seat brackets stripped off i'm thinking they might be able to work, with this potential find.

if there isn't compatibility between 74-82 i won't even bother. (this is assuming the bracket creator used all the factory holes of course)

any feedback is appreciated. thanks.
